Teddy
Johnston
Teddy Johnston has spent the last ten years designing advocacy strategies for early-stage, emerging technology companies in space, biotech, advanced nuclear, cyber, AI and other cutting-edge sectors.
Background
Government plays a significant role in each of these industries — as a source of funding for R&D, a major customer, or as a regulator. Teddy specializes in crafting proactive and creative engagement campaigns intended to help innovative companies unlock sources of government support and accelerate their growth.
He has particular expertise in space policy, and his advocacy has yielded tangible results for a range of space technologies — from nuclear thermal propulsion to hyperspectral small satellite constellations to the advent of new forms of downmass that will be essential to unlocking the commercial potential of low-Earth orbit.
Prior to entering private practice, Teddy was a senior official at the U.S. Department of Commerce, serving in multiple roles including Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary for International Trade, White House Liaison, and Director of the Office of Business Liaison.
