10+ Years Experience Pentagon Relationships Defense Procurement Business Development Client Leadership

Overview

Mission is seeking a Vice President or Senior Vice President of National Security to lead Department of War (DoW)-facing engagement across the firm's full client portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of relevant experience (15+ years for Senior Vice President) and deep relationships inside key elements of the DoW, with a working command of how the Pentagon defines requirements, programs budgets, and conducts procurement.

A strong candidate will be a proven leader who can develop client relationships independently, contribute to revenue growth, and manage and mentor junior team members. Candidates considered at the Senior Vice President level will bring a sustained personal or team book of business and a track record of client retention. Experience at the Pentagon is strongly preferred, as is defense sales, capture, or business development experience on behalf of a private company. The position will report to Mission's Managing Director for National Security.

  • Craft and execute strategies that move client capabilities toward DoW adoption, from requirements shaping and program alignment through funding, contracting, and transition
  • Lead analysis of DoW policy, budgetary, and programmatic developments — including the NDAA and defense appropriations cycles — and advise firm leadership and clients accordingly
  • Represent Mission and its clients in briefings and meetings with DoW stakeholders, Congress, and industry
  • Contribute meaningfully to new business development, including identifying new client opportunities and supporting firmwide pitches
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships, independently identifying and addressing client needs
