Partner

Yogin Kothari is a Partner at Mission Strategies and the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of the Solar Energy Manufacturers for America (SEMA) Coalition. With over a decade of experience in Congress, the nonprofit sector, and strategic advisory roles, Yogin brings deep expertise in shaping and advancing public policy through effective federal advocacy. He is known not only for his policy acumen but also for his ability to turn strategic insight into commercial opportunities for clients in the energy and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Previously, Yogin served as Senior Vice President at Boundary Stone Partners, where he helped grow and lead the firm’s Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains practice. He represented some of the world’s largest and most innovative solar, battery, and advanced energy manufacturers—creating the SEMA Coalition, advising clients on tax, trade, and regulatory policy, and securing major policy wins across legislation including the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and related implementation efforts.

Before joining the private sector, Yogin served as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, advising Chairman Gary C. Peters on regulatory affairs, energy and environmental policy, research security, and government operations. In that role, he built strong bipartisan partnerships and advanced key legislative and oversight priorities, including helping establish the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee through the CARES Act.

Yogin began his career at the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), where he spent more than seven years representing the organization before Congress, federal agencies, and the media on issues related to scientific integrity, government transparency, and chemical safety. At UCS, he led federal lobbying campaigns, coordinated coalitions, and provided guidance on congressional investigations, oversight, and litigation strategy.

A proud Southern California native, Yogin holds a B.A. in International Affairs, an M.P.S. in Legislative Affairs, and a Graduate Certificate in PACs and Political Management, all from George Washington University.
